LINE DRAWINGS

WATERCOLORS

chincoteague pony

The artwork represented in this section is either pencil-and-watercolor

or ink on paper, or sometimes on vellum with colored pencil

on the back. I usually begin a sketch in pencil, then apply ink,

colored pencil or paint. (I always colored perfectly inside the

lines as a kid, but Iím starting to get over that.)

A favorite tool for the black and white gestural drawings is a

brush-tipped marker. I sometimes then bring that into Adobe Illustrator

to finish it up, as I did with that old bike up there on the left.
